Cardale Jones has flown under the radar for most of his Ohio State career. On Monday, the redshirt sophomore battles Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota for the national championship. Emphasis goes on the sophomore part.
During Oregon's interview session on media day, Oregon's star quarterback said this about Cardale Jones:

Fun fact: Jones and Mariota were in the same recruiting class (2011), and Jones is slightly older. Mariota also had good things to say about Darron Lee:
Marcus Mariota on Darron Lee: "He's always all over the ball." Says Ohio State defense is a "physical bunch."

Mariota is a good guy, so let's just chalk up his answer to him confusing Cardale Jones' class with J.T. Barrett's. Compared to the weird questions some reporters asked him, this hardly raises an eyebrow.
Strangest question I've heard so far: "Marcus, if you could trade the Arizona loss for a win, would you?"

Marcus Mariota was just asked his favorite color. It's blue. He doesn't know why. He thanked the questioner for the question.

You crazy for this one, media.
