In Indianapolis, Devin Smith is preparing for the biggest job interview of his life at the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Even so Smith, who garnered national attention for his big-play ability during the Buckeyes National Championship campaign, isn't too far removed from his school's unusual quarterback quandary. As such, he was asked to pick who will start for Ohio State in 2015.
"I don't know," Smith said. "If I had to guess, I would say Cardale because his momentum ... but I know coach Meyer's going to do a great job of going with the right person."
Meyer will have to choose between Jones, J.T. Barrett, who combined for a school-record 45 touchdowns, and Braxton Miller, a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year.
Ohio State, which opens spring practices next month, has not named a starter for next season.
Smith caught 931 yards and 12 touchdowns on 33 catches in 2014.
