After posting 15 tackles and two pass break-ups for the Oakland Raiders in 2014, former Ohio State standout, Chimdi Chekwa, signed with the reigning world champions, the New England Patriots, back in March.
According to the NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, that business arrangement came to an end today when the Patriots released the recently-signed DB. Rapoport did note this was "unexpected."
Chekwa was taken by the Oakland Raiders with the 113th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He has yet to see the field for any other NFL team.
