It was a beautiful yet chilly night in Columbus as the Buckeyes, 8-0 and ranked third in the College Football Playoff's inaugural 2015 poll, hosted the Golden Gophers of Minnesota.
The Buckeyes came out of the gate slow but, thanks to a strong defensive effort by Vonn Bell and Joey Bosa, took a 14-0 lead into the half.
The Gophers didn't fold and brought the game to within one score late in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to upset the Buckeyes. Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, playing in place for suspended starter JT Barrett, threw a second half touchdown and capped the game with a 38-yard run for a score with under two minutes to play to give the Buckeyes a 28-14 win.
