Sister Hazel, an alternative rock band, will perform Wednesday night at the Bogey Bar and Grill in Dublin, Ohio, as part of its annual Memorial Tournament celebrations.
According to this Columbus Reddit post and confirmed by a well-placed MarionTMZ source, Urban Meyer, possibly the world's biggest Sister Hazel fan, already has a V.I.P. table on ice. Tim Tebow, who is in Columbus this week, "usually shows up" as well.
"[Sister Hazel] is his favorite band, apparently," the source continued. The Gainesville Sun's Pat Dooley profiled Meyer's love for the band in 2009—specifically its song A Little Like Heaven. It's a love dating back to his time at Utah, before he even lived in Gainesville.
When Meyer restored Florida to prominence, he came to understand the song's meaning as well as the beauty of Gainesville life. He forced his daughters to memorize the lyrics and made Drew Copeland, member of Sister Hazel and singer–songwriter of A Little Like Heaven, sing the tune twice when he visited Meyer's lake house on Melrose Bay.
"That song should be kind of a community rallying song," Meyer told the Gainesville Sun. "Maybe it's not, but it should be. This is a helluva community. Go find one better. I've lived in seven different places. This is the best place we've ever lived."
In a shocking turn of events, I had never heard of Sister Hazel until I read the Reddit post and reached out to my source. So let's take a closer look at the alternative rock band from Gainesville that won over Ohio State's championship coach.
(Please note, however, I struggle to comprehend abstract lyrics that aren't about criminal bravado or spending money I don't have.)
No. 5 — HAPPY (1997)
LYRICS SAMPLE
And you said don't you want to be like that man!?
Oh No No No!
But then he cracks that smile
And that don't look so bad to me.....Happy I'm Happy
But that ain't good enough for you
Happy I'm Happy...
I remember thinkin'How they thought that we should be
Remember feelin'
That might be you but that ain't me[More]

Not sure what to say about this video, which seems to be about a guy passively-aggressively telling his ex he's happy he wasn't good enough for her? The highlight is a Fabio-like figure strumming a cello(??) in the middle of a haunted forest.
1997: Super lit.
No. 4 — Champagne high (2000)
LYRICS SAMPLE
And for the million hours that we were
Well I'll smile and remember it all
Then I'll turn and go
While story's completed mine is a long way from doneWell I'm on a champagne high
Where will I be when I stop wondering why
On a champagne high
I'd toast to the future but that'd be a lie
On a champagne high, highSpring turned to summer
But then winter turned to mean
The distance seemed right
At the time it was best
To leave, and to leave behind
What I once thought was fine and so real
To me, and while I'm still gone
On the quest for my song
I'm at your, celebration[MORE]

Oh dear, this one appears to be about a guy getting drunk and crashing his ex-girlfriend's wedding? At least he had the sense to take a cab, although he's acting like he's the victim and not the guy trying to steal another man's bride from the altar and whisk her away in a cab.
I can't endorse this, but I'm not an alternative rocker living a champagne lifestyle.
No. 3 — THAT KIND OF BEAUTIFUL (2016)
LYRICS SAMPLE
Have you ever been flying down a long and windy road
With your windows wide open and the sun rushing in
Have you ever sat staring at a shoreline all night
don't wanna blink your eyes thinking man - this is itAnd the last thing you're thinking bout is leaving
yeah you can't believe your seeing what your seeing
She's that kind of stop your right in your tracks
knock you out, just like that something you just can't explain
that kind of blow your mind, every time
that you thought you'd never find
She's that kind - she's that kind of beautiful[MORE]

Ah yes, what red-blooded American male can't relate to seeing a beautiful woman that would never sleep with him? It's the beloved psychosis we all know and love, but at least we've progressed away from crashing an ex's wedding in a cab.
No. 2 — ALL FOR YOU (1994)
LYRICS SAMPLE
Finally I figured out
But it took a long, long time
But now there's a turnabout
Maybe 'cause I'm tryingThere's been times, I'm so confused
All my roads, They lead to you
I just can't turn and walk awayIt's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
But words can't say, And I can't do
Enough to prove,
It's all for youI thought I'd seen it all
'Cause it's been a long, long time
But then we'll trip and fall
Wondering if I'm blind[MORE]

I lied! I actually have heard this song, though I wouldn't have been able to identify the artist prior to today.
That said—wow, did some women take a pipe these guys' souls or what? And here I thought a flowing coif like that was a key to a happy relationship.
No. 1 — A LITTLE LIKE HEAVEN (2004)
LYRICS SAMPLE
It was out on Paynes Prairie where I got my first kiss
There's the school yard where we would play as kids
We pulled arrow heads outa Hogtown Creek
And when the cops came 'round, we'd hide our drinks
Where I come from, it's a little like heaven
And I can't stay gone to long
Where I come from, yeah, yeah
We'd water ski on Melrose Bay
And we could wear flip flops on Christmas Day
When we had enough cash for gasoline
We'd all skip school and go to Crescent Beach[MORE]

Bet the rent money Sister Hazel will be playing this tonight in honor of King Urban.
Underage drinking, lascivious kisses, and skipping school—truly the hog's life for the young men of Gainesville. Unfortunately for Sister Hazel, we now know the ramifications of this long-lost summer love. It spawned the rest of their discography.
WHAT WE LEARNED
Urban digs the dulcet crooning of dad rock, which isn't out of the ordinary for a wealthy, 51-year-old man who also likes Jimmy Buffet.
Who amongst us doesn't love a song that reminds us of our childhood, back when times were simpler and all that worried us was getting enough gas to get to the beach when we cut school?
Perhaps Meyer's love of SIster Hazel isn't so perplexing after all. Perhaps this is why over 72,000 people liked its Facebook page.
Hazel's show starts at 7:45 p.m. and will run until 9, after which the Gin Blossoms will perform.
