After a dinged hamstring cost Ezekiel Elliott much of his training camp and two preseason games, the Dallas Cowboys finally rolled out their new Ferrari Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported earlier in the day the Cowboys were "concerned" when Elliott reported to fall camp at 231 pounds. He worked some off that off during camp before his injury.
If the weight came back, Elliott put it to good use in his debut as he looked every part of a No. 4 overall pick.
Elliott finished the night with 48 yards on seven carries. He also showcased his renowned blocking ability. Though his one targeted pass fell incomplete, he later rewarded Seattle safety Kam Chancellor—the hardest hitting safety in the league—for his late hit on the play by lowering his shoulder on him later in the game.
The Seahawks won the game, 27-17. The Cowboys fell to 1-2 in the preseason.
Elliott's final preseason game comes Thursday in Houston against the Texans and former teammates Braxton Miller and John Simon.
