Saturday's 62-3 shellacking of Maryland showed exactly why Ohio State wants to get the ball in the hands of H-Back Curtis Samuel as often as possible. The do-it-all junior had 112 yards and three touchdowns on nine touches on Saturday afternoon — all in the first half — to help the Buckeyes to a 45-3 halftime lead.
Quarterback J.T. Barrett had a solid game, as well, finishing 18-for-27 passing for 253 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 43 yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
Maryland, meanwhile, scored its only points of the game on a first-quarter field goal.
Ohio State travels to East Lansing next Saturday to face Michigan State. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
