For much of Saturday afternoon, it looked as if Ohio State was going to lose its first game to Michigan at home in over 15 years. But Tyler Durbin's game-tying field goal with 1 second remaining sent the game to overtime, where the second-ranked Buckeyes pulled out a thrilling 30-27 win over the No. 3 Wolverines.
Quarterback J.T. Barrett finished the game 15-for-32 passing with an interception and ran for 157 yards and a score. His lone trip to the end zone gave the Buckeyes a 24-17 lead in the first overtime, but Michigan answered with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Wilton Speight to Amarah Darboh on fourth-and-goal.
The Buckeyes held the Wolverines to just a field goal in the second overtime, and then Curtis Samuel ripped off an 15-yard touchdown just five plays later to the win the game.
With the victory, Ohio State finishes the regular season 11-1. The Buckeyes will play next weekend for the Big Ten championship if Michigan State upsets Penn State this afternoon.
