If there were ever an insightful talent evaluator of NFL pass rushers, it's Cleveland Browns All-Pro left tackle Joe Thomas, who hasn't missed a snap since coming into the league in 2007.
Saturday, his team faces Joey Bosa and the San Diego Chargers. The former Ohio State star is on pace to pressure the quarterback more times than anyone in the past 10 years, and Thomas has taken notice of the rookie his team passed on.
From The Akron-Beacon Journal:
“As far as rookies go, he’s the most polished pass rusher that I’ve ever seen,” Browns 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas said. “He’s got a natural instinct about counter pass rush moves and using his hands to beat an offensive lineman that you don’t really see out of rookies. He looks like an eight-year vet out there the way he tries to get after the quarterback. Another thing that always stands out when you watch him is just the effort.”
Bosa can wreak havoc from anywhere along the defensive line, so unfortunately for Browns fans, their team can't put Thomas on solo Bosa duty.
The Browns host the Chargers at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
