"Now I remember why I don't gamble," Urban Meyer said as he walked on stage to address the crowd at Alpha Tau Omega's annual charity Casino night. "I just lost everything at that black jack table over there."
Meyer, his wife, Shelley, and four Ohio State football players — Nick Bosa, Mike Weber, A.J. Alexander and Damon Arnette — attended the fraternity's annual fundraiser which uses classic casino table games to raise money for cancer research.
With a ticket — $60 for adults and $25 for students — attendees are given chips which they can use to play various casino games. Any winnings are exchanged for raffle tickets at the end of the night, giving guests a chance to win various prizes.
Meyer and the players got in on the fun, playing blackjack, roulette and craps and often posing for pictures with guests.
The event raised $57,000 for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research, topping its goal of $55,000.
