Urban Meyer seemed a bit anxious before kickoff. Maybe he knew something the rest of us didn't.
As he's done so many times through the years, ESPN's Lee Corso dons Brutus' headgear as he picks the Buckeyes to win the game.
Leading 7-3, Indiana was threatening to go up two scores in the 2nd quarter. Facing a 3rd-and-5 from the Ohio State 14, Indiana quarterback Richard Lagow's pass was tipped by Kendall Sheffield into the waiting arms of Jordan Fuller at the goal line. The sophomore raced 40 yards up the Indiana sideline before being pushed out.
Two plays after Fuller's interception, running back J.K. Dobbins – who would go on to set a program record for rushing yards by a freshman in his debut – ripped off a 35-yard run, thanks to two tremendous jump cuts.
Ohio State found the end zone for the first time when sophomore running back Antonio Williams punched it in from the one with a little over five minutes remaining in the first half. It was the first touchdown of Williams' Ohio State career.
Two minutes into the third quarter, with Ohio State trailing Indiana 14-13, wide receiver Parris Campbell dropped a sure touchdown on a beautifully thrown ball from quarterback J.T. Barrett. It was his second drop in three plays.
Midway through the third quarter, J.T. Barrett capped an 85-yard drive with this two-yard plunge to put Ohio State up 20-14.
The play of the game – though it ultimately didn't count – came on Indiana's ensuing possession when Robert Landers scooped up what appeared to be a fumble and took it 35 yards to the house. Behold the #fatmanhighstepping.
Indiana would take the lead after Landers' fumble return was overruled, but Ohio State answered quickly on its next possession with Campbell atoning for his earlier sin and taking this short pass 74 yards for six and an Ohio State lead they wouldn't relinquish. It would be a night of redemption for Campbell.
Three minutes later, Johnnie Dixon would get in on the action on OSU's next series, racing 59 yards to put the Buckeyes up 35-21.
Binjimen Victor hauled in J.T. Barrett's third touchdown in as many possessions with this 11-yarder three minutes into the final quarter to put Ohio State up 42-21.
Williams added the final score of the evening for Ohio State with this 5-yard run late in the fourth.
