With only three days to go before Ohio State's top-five showdown with Oklahoma, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer met with the media on Wednesday for the final time before the big game.
Meyer started his press conference fielding questions about how the Buckeyes' first game against Indiana went last Thursday, but Meyer admitted that he had already forgotten much of what happened in that game because he is so focused on preparing for this Saturday's game.
"That seems like seven weeks ago," Meyer said of the Indiana game.
Regardless, Meyer continued to recap last week's game while also fielding questions about the matchups and challenges Ohio State will face on Saturday. Here's a sampling of what he said:
- Branden Bowen "can play much better," but Meyer agreed with him being graded a champion for the Indiana game because it was his first game starting at right guard.
- Isaiah Prince "played really well" at right tackle against Indiana. Ohio State worked hard with Prince on improving this offseason, and the Buckeyes are seeing that hard work pays off.
- Ohio State is so deep in preparation for the Oklahoma game that the Indiana game last week "feels like it was seven weeks ago."
- Defensive end Sam Hubbard "is in the John Simon-type category" for how hard he works.
- Oklahoma tight end Mark Andrews has the size and athleticism to create matchup issues for the Ohio State defense. "Hell of a player," Meyer said.
- Meyer believes Oklahoma's offensive line is one of the top offensive lines of the country. "They control the line of scrimmage."
Check back with Eleven Warriors this evening for further coverage as offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and Ohio State players are scheduled to meet with the media after Meyer's press conference on Wednesday.
