“Get back” coaches are one of the subtle joys of football at all levels. They're tasked with making sure players (and often staff) stay off the field, and within their designated sideline area, which spans 50 yards, from the 25 yard-line at each end of the field.

It's not often, however, that you see a “get back” coach dedicated to one person, but that's exactly what Ohio State has in place for defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.

In the video above, captured by 97.1 The Fan, you can see assistant strength coach Quinn Barham shadowing Schiano, ensuring he doesn't draw a penalty for venturing too far onto the field.

Asked about his minder earlier this week, Schiano was to the point. “He’s doing his job, and I’m trying not to get a penalty.”
