Without the services of freshman center Kaleb Wesson — was suspended just minutes prior to tip off — Ohio State defeated Texas Southern, 82-64, on Thursday night.
With the lead trimmed to just two with only six minutes remaining, sophomore center Micah Potter scored seven points as part of a 13-0 Buckeyes' run to put the game out of reach. Potter and senior forward Jae'Sean Tate led the Buckeyes with 17 points apiece, with the latter adding a team-high seven rebounds.
Ohio State is set to return to action Sunday against Northeastern. Tip off at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center is set for 2 p.m. on BTN2.
