Bowls are big business, and Ohio State's latest trip to the Cotton Bowl was no different.
According to Carrie Ghose of Columbus Business First, the Buckeyes' victory romp over USC netted Ohio State an additional $18 million in ticket sales and broadcast fees.
It was the latest boom for the athletic department, with its revenue up $23.4 million through the first five months of the fiscal year that ends in June.
As reported by CBS Sports in December 2016, this would put Ohio State on pace to maintain its college sports spending crown, which is a good thing considering it supports 35 non-football sports.
