The threat of inclement weather forced Ohio State to push up the start time of the 2018 Spring Game. And just as the clock on the scoreboard hit triple zeros on the Gray's 37-14 win over the Scarlet, the sky opened up.
The weather cooperated just enough for the Buckeyes' quarterback battle to take center stage. All three signal callers — Dwayne Haskins, Joe Burrow and Tate Martell — rotated in order to get reps with the first-team offense. Burrow finished the day 15-for-22 for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns passes (for both teams), but head coach Urban Meyer refused to name a starter following the game.
H-Back Demario McCall led all players with 11 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown, while early enrollee running back Master Teague III led the game with 14 carries for 73 yards and a score.
Ohio State opens the 2018 season at home against Oregon State on Sept. 1.
