Three-time All-American linebacker James Laurinaitis was officially enshrined as one of Ohio State's all-time greats on Friday night.
Laurinaitis was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame, and beforehand, he spent time with reporters to talk about how special the honor was to him.
The former Buckeye linebacker, who is now the host of Bishop & Laurinaitis on 97.1 The Fan and an analyst for Big Ten Network and Fox Sports, also gave his thoughts on what he saw in Ohio State's season opener, specifically offering praise for quarterback Dwayne Haskins and running back Mike Weber while explaining what he thought went wrong on defense.
Laurinaitis also revealed that he nearly joined Luke Fickell's coaching staff at Cincinnati, before ultimately turning that opportunity down because he wasn't "all in," and also discussed how he'd respond if he was offered a job on Ohio State's coaching staff.
"Hypothetically? It would be a long, long thought process on that one, for sure," Laurinaitis said on if Urban Meyer were to offer him a job. "It would be hard to say no."
You can hear what Laurinaitis had to say about all of those topics, and more, in the video above.
