Every week, Eleven Warriors will dive into the mentions of Ohio State's coaches and players to bring you the #HotTakes and ramblings of Buckeye Nation. This week, we're looking at how excited many of you were for Urban Meyer's return.

Meyer and the Buckeyes made quick work of the Green Wave, scoring touchdowns on all six of their first-half drives to take a 42-6 lead into the break. And with Penn State looming next Saturday, it was primarily Tate Martell and the backups who finished Tulane off for a 49-6 victory.

But the story of the day was Meyer's return, and Ohio State fans were eager to welcome their coach back.

And it's safe to say he was happy to be back on the sideline. He probably spent the better part of last month getting kicked out of random Planet Fitness locations for yelling at people who weren't giving four-to-six seconds of relentless effort.

@ Urban Meyer

A lot of you kept your "welcome back" messages simple. Others went... a different route.

Picture me grimacing.

It was incredible to see how many people tweeted selfies at Meyer wearing their "Urban Legends Never Die" shirts. We're talking north of a dozen here. Was this a concerted effort? I've never been terribly trendy, but you know what the teens say — I guess it was pretty on fleek.

Man you people are emotional, says the grown man who welled up with real tears after the Cleveland Browns won a football contest precisely four days ago.

Yeah Bryon, Ohio State opened conference play with a game against a non-conference opponent. That is and always has been how college football works.

That's certainly one way to look at it.

I can confirm this is true.

It appears some of you are listening to me. For those who aren't, I'm really going to need more pictures of your dogs tweeted at staff and players. Thanks ahead of time.

People! It's 2018. We need to move on.

Showing this because I've never experienced "sorry" spelled this way, and I'm a sharer by nature.

What I want to know — who's on the other end of that cord, and why are they trying to harm so many innocent people?

What... did you do?

@ Dwayne Haskins

I'm starting to think some of you enjoy redshirt sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins. After completing 21-of-24 passes for 304 yards and five touchdowns — all within just five drives during the first half —the Twitter fingers were busy typing out some Heisman hype.

Nick, you're getting props for using one of my favorite 10 gifs of all time. And yes, I do have a list. Maybe I'll share it one day if everyone unanimously decides to stop tweeting at coaches and players.

I like how this guy also tagged ESPN.

@ Austin Mack

Parris Campbell paced the wideouts with eight catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns, but Austin Mack had a solid bounce-back game after a rough outing last week against TCU.

Mack only hauled in three receptions for 32 yards, but he made a nice back-shoulder catch for a touchdown to close out the half.

Buckeye Nation was appropriately excited and supportive.

Y'all he didn't go anywhere, but the sentiment is there.

With the local squad traveling to Happy Valley for a top-10 showdown with Penn State, I expect and look forward to all of your reasonable reactions on Twitter next Saturday.
