Bennett was cut from the Jaguars after their season opener after making the initial 53-man roster.
Up to this point, Bennett’s NFL career has been plagued with injuries. After playing in 13 games his rookie season in 2015, Bennett missed the entire 2016 season with a leg injury and all but one game of the 2017 season with a pectoral injury.
Bennett seems excited about the new opportunity, as he released a lighthearted statement via Twitter.
Everything happens for a reason! I love the city of Atlanta and Im really excited to join this great organization. By the end of the year the fans will realize Im also the good mike Bennett. Lol. Lets get it!!
