There's a chance Urban Meyer is not Ohio State's head coach next season, at least according to online sportsbook betonline.ag, which gives Meyer just 5/4 (+125) odds to be the team's head coach at the start of 2019 spring practice.
It's still the best odds on the board, but it's a plus money bet and much lower odds than you would typically expect for a coach in his mid 50s with a .905 win percentage and a national title in the past five years.
Iowa State's Matt Campbell is given the second-best odds to be Ohio State's head coach to start the 2019 season at 7/4 (+175).
Campbell's odds are substantially higher than Ryan Day's 10/1 (+1000) odds, even though Day was the interim head coach during Meyer's administrative leave and was linked to coach-in-waiting conversations last month. In fact, Day isn't even alone with the third-best odds as Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm and former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops also have 10/1 odds.
Then there are some other long shots on the board including Lane Kiffin, Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick. You can see the whole betting board below.
If you're into that kind of thing, you can place your own bet at betonline.ag.
