It snowed in East Lansing yesterday. It's snowing a little bit this morning.
That could be trouble for a team that's been struggling on the ground – facing the nation's best running defenses, no less.
Luckily, the snow should clear up by the time kickoff rolls around for No. 10 Ohio State's Big Ten clash with No. 18 Michigan State at Spartan Stadium today at noon. And if we've learned anything out of the last five years, it's to assume nothing when the Buckeyes and Spartans meet on the gridiron.
Expect a high of 34º for kickoff, with a 15% chance of the morning fluries making their way into the game. Will it stick or melt away under the mid-day sun? That's the million-dollar question.
Wind might be an issue today with a strong breeze of 16 mph expected for kickoff, before losing a little bit of steam in the second half and settling at 13 mph out of the northwest.
If you're tailgating in East Lansing – and you really should, despite the weather – look for the Michigan State parents tailgate on Harrison just northeast of the corner of Kalamazoo. There are 500 Ohioans on the Michigan State roster. The least they can do is feed some other Ohioans.
Bundle up for tailgating, however, as snow showers are expected from 7 a.m. to at least 10 a.m. You're looking at a sub-30 for tailgating, with the thermometer hitting 28º at 7 a.m. and rising slowly throughout the day to a high of 35º during the game.
