During these tough times, we all need something to smile about. While there may not any football going on in Columbus any time soon, some former Buckeyes have been reaching out to fans, lifting spirits along the way.
Chris Spielman has been at the forefront of raising money for COVID-19 relief since March, a trend that Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward continued today. Ward and his foundation, Make Them Know Your Name, teamed up to take care of some of his fellow Ohioans that have struggled during the COVID-19 crisis.
Were here to help 21 of our neighbors who have taken a direct hit from the COVID-19 crisis. Denzel wants to take the burden of 1 big payment off your hands this month- rent, mortgage, groceries we got you.

Ward not only paid for each individual's largest expense but also called each person to listen to their story and deliver the good news.
Not only did @denzelward cover a large monthly expense for 21 individuals and small businesses affected by COVID-19, but he called some of the recipients to deliver the news himself. We are honored to show up when times are tough and help carry some of the burden pic.twitter.com/8cpn3Uj13K

Ward's personal touch brings another dimension to the story, giving them a memory they'll never forget.
After being drafted No. 2 overall to the Washington Redskins, Chase Young undoubtedly gained a few fans. None of them, however, were more excited than this little boy.

Even during these trying times, Buckeyes have both been able to find a personal way to connect with their fans and neighbors, giving them a memory for the rest of their lives.
