Among the 10 Buckeyes who were selected in this year's NFL draft, the only one who did not make a regular-season roster was Jashon Cornell, who had already been placed on injured reserve by the Detroit Lions with an Achilles injury. All five undrafted rookies from Ohio State who signed with teams, however, were released on Saturday; Rashod Berry was cut by the New England Patriots, Branden Bowen was cut by the Carolina Panthers, Austin Mack and Binjimen Victor were both released by the New York Giants and Liam McCullough was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Johnnie Dixon was cut by the Arizona Cardinals with a waived/injured designation, while the Las Vegas Raiders released Rod Smith and the Dallas Cowboys released Devin Smith earlier this week. Every other Buckeye who entered this week on an NFL roster survived cutdown day, giving Ohio State six more players on initial 53-man rosters than it had last year.

Those rosters are not set in stone, so it's possible that any of the players cut Saturday could now be signed by other teams, while some players who survived Saturday's cuts could still be released over the next few days to make room for new signings.

NFL teams are also allowed to keep 16 players on their practice squads this year, creating more opportunities for players who were released on Saturday. The Patriots brought back Berry and the Giants brought back Mack and Victor to their practice squads on Sunday.
