Even though Saturday's game against Indiana ended up getting a little too close for comfort, the majority of Ohio State's starters on offense and defense were named champions for their performances in the Buckeyes' 42-35 win.
On offense, players of the game Garrett Wilson and Luke Farrell are joined on this week's champions list by running back Master Teague, wide receiver Chris Olave and the entire starting offensive line of Thayer Munford, Harry Miller, Josh Myers, Wyatt Davis and Nicholas Petit-Frere.
Justin Fields, who threw three interceptions in Saturday's game, missed out on champion honors for the first time all season. Wide receiver Jameson Williams was the only other offensive starter to miss out on a champion grade.
On defense, players of the game Jonathon Cooper and Pete Werner were joined by defensive tackles Haskell Garrett and Tommy Togiai, defensive ends Tyreke Smith, Tyler Friday and Zach Harrison, linebackers Tuf Borland and Baron Browning and cornerback Shaun Wade. Wade, who had a pick-six against the Hoosiers, was the only defensive back to grade out as a champion after the Buckeyes gave up 491 passing yards.
Josh Proctor was the special teams player of the week, while walk-on quarterback Jagger LaRoe, freshman offensive lineman Josh Fryar, walk-on defensive tackle Zaid Hamdan and walk-on linebacker Trayvon Wilburn were named as the scout team players of the week.
