Kyle McCord takes the No. 14 that C.J. Stroud (who's now wearing No. 7) wore for most of last season, while Jayden Ballard takes the No. 10 vacated by Mookie Cooper when he transferred to Missouri. Evan Pryor's No. 21 was most recently worn on offense by Parris Campbell. Sam Hart takes over the No. 81 previously worn at his position by Jake Hausmann. Ben Christman becomes the latest offensive lineman to wear No. 71, previously worn by Josh Myers.
Jack Sawyer is wearing the same No. 33 that Zach Harrison wore in his freshman year at Ohio State and that James Laurinaitis made famous for the Buckeyes. Jantzen Dunn follows in the footsteps of Malik Hooker and Shaun Wade by wearing No. 24 in Ohio State's secondary.
Reid Carrico will be keeping his high school number, wearing the same No. 28 for the Buckeyes that he wore at Ironton.
