Big Ten Media Days are just one week away, and we now know which Ohio State players will be representing the Buckeyes in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and safety Ronnie Hickman will be the three Buckeyes traveling to Indianapolis to participate in next week’s Big Ten Media Days, which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium on July 26 and 27.
It’s an unsurprising trio of selections for the Buckeyes, as all three of them are expected to be among Ohio State’s biggest stars and top leaders this season.
Stroud and Smith-Njigba are two of the biggest names in college football, and both of them are entering their likely final season at Ohio State before heading to the NFL, so the Buckeyes have reason to promote them as the faces of their offense entering the 2022 season. Hickman, a redshirt junior, is chosen to represent the defense after leading the Buckeyes with an even 100 tackles in 2021.
Ryan Day, of course, will also be in Indianapolis alongside those three players for next week’s event, where Ohio State will be among the teams participating in the second day of interviews. Day’s initial press conference at media days is set for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, while he will also meet with reporters for an hourlong session from 3:30-4:30 p.m. that day. Stroud, Smith-Njigba and Hickman will hold their media sessions from 1:15-2:15 p.m. on July 27.
As always, Eleven Warriors will have a full contingent of reporters in Indianapolis to cover Big Ten Media Days, so stay tuned for full coverage of next week’s event.
