Ohio State will begin its second half of the season with two straight noon games on FOX.
FOX announced Saturday morning that Ohio State’s highly anticipated road game at Penn State on Oct. 29 will be televised by FOX in its Big Noon time slot, marking the first time since 2001 that an Ohio State road game at Penn State will kick off at noon.
It’s the first time since 2009, when the Buckeyes played Penn State in a 3:30 kickoff in Happy Valley, that Penn State will host Ohio State in a day game. The most recent day game between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions was when Ohio State hosted Penn State in 2019.
It will also be the first time since 2009 – excluding 2020, when fans were not permitted to attend games due to COVID-19 – that Penn State will host Ohio State without a corresponding “White Out.” Ohio State will instead hold a “Stripe Out” at Beaver Stadium for this year’s game, while its White Out game will be next week against Minnesota.
While only one of Ohio State’s first six games of this season was played at noon, the Buckeyes are now set for two noon games in a row as their Oct. 22 home game against Iowa will also be a noon game on FOX. FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will be in Columbus for the game against the Hawkeyes, for which Ohio State is encouraging fans to “Scarlet the Shoe” (though the Buckeyes will wear their standard home uniforms rather than the color rush uniforms they wore for last year’s scarlet-out against Penn State).

Ohio State has won its last five straight games against Penn State, including two in State College, since suffering a 24-21 loss at Beaver Stadium in 2016. The Buckeyes are 9-1 against Penn State over the last 10 years.
Penn State suffered its first loss of the 2022 season on Saturday, falling to 5-1 in a 41-17 loss to Michigan.
