Noah Ruggles was automatic for the Buckeyes on Saturday, and two days later, he was rewarded for his efforts.

The Ohio State kicker nailed all four field goal attempts – matching a career-high set last season against Nebraska and Purdue – and sent six point-after attempts through the uprights to earn a Big Ten special teams player of the week award on Monday.

All of Ruggles' four field goals came in the first half when the Ohio State offense struggled to move the ball against a stout Hawkeye defense. The first of his kicks came from 46 yards out and was a season-long for Ruggles. He also converted field goals from 41, 35 and 26 and added two extra points in the first two quarters to provide the Buckeyes with 14 first-half points.

In 2022, Ruggles is six-for-seven (85.7%) on field goals and 47-for-47 on extra points. In 20 career games for the Buckeyes, Ruggles has made 26 of his 28 field goals and is a perfect 121 of 121 on extra points.

Ruggles continues the streak for Ohio State players earning a Big Ten player of the week award the Monday after a game and now accompanies Marvin Harrison Jr., C.J. Stroud, Tommy Eichenberg and Miyan Williams as the Buckeyes to receive the honor.
