Ohio State will play in its penultimate regular-season game and final road contest of the 2022 season when they face the Terrapins in SECU Stadium in College Park, Maryland, on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The Buckeyes' mission this week will be to not look past the Terps in any aspect of the matchup. Although Maryland has fallen in two straight games – a 23-10 defeat to Wisconsin and a 30-0 blowout to Penn State – and lost three of its last six contests, Ryan Day believes the Terrapins are still "talented and dangerous" and will provide his team with plenty of challenges they will need to overcome on Saturday.
However, the staff at Eleven Warriors doesn't think Ohio State will have many issues moving past Maryland once the boot hits the ball this afternoon. Now only a few hours from kickoff, the authoritative postulators on Ohio State football at 11W offer their score predictions and provide a glance at the betting market for the Buckeyes' 11th regular-season game this year.
Eleven Warriors Staff Score Predictions
Chris Lauderback: Ohio State 42, Maryland 17. "A week before The Game, Ryan Day and company will start fast behind a big day from Dallan Hayden, allowing key starters to exit this one early."
Dan Hope: Ohio State 45, Maryland 17. "I’d be more concerned about a trap game if Maryland hadn’t scored 10 total points in its last two outings. The Buckeyes will probably hope they can hold some things back this week with The Game on the horizon next week, but they should win comfortably as long as they aren’t caught sleepwalking."
Chase Brown: Ohio State 42, Maryland 17. "Ohio State should have no problem beating Maryland on Saturday. The Buckeyes should take care of business and put this one away early so they can roll into the Michigan game at full strength, ready to win the game that matters."
Griffin Strom: Ohio State 41, Maryland 10. "The Buckeyes might not be at their absolute best as they continue to lick wounds and look ahead to next week’s all-important showdown, but even that will be good enough to tear up the Terps for a three-touchdown win on the road."
Garrick Hodge: Ohio State 45, Maryland 10. "Ohio State will cruise in its final tune-up before The Game, and fans will likely spend no more than five minutes after the game is concluded talking about what actually happened on the field and will start making bold predictions for the week to come."
Matt Gutridge: Ohio State 63, Maryland 14. “Remember when Chase Young was forced to miss a couple of games during the 2019 season? Remember who was rumored to have reported The Predator? Ryan Day also remembers.”
George Eisner: Ohio State 42, Maryland 14. "This is a tricky projection to give, considering the Terps have posted less than 80 passing yards in each of the last two weeks. However, Maryland has scored at least 27 points in all their home games this year, and the Buckeyes have had some early hiccups during each road trip. If OSU covers the spread, it won't be by much."
Johnny Ginter: Ohio State 48 - Maryland 14. "If everyone were in tip-top shape, this would probably be a 'call your own score' kind of situation. Alas, Ohio State will have to settle for winning by like 30."
Kyle Jones: Ohio State 49 - Maryland 7. "Maryland simply can’t protect Taulia over the past few weeks, leaving its offense effectively powerless. OSU takes advantage and wins 49-7 after getting out to an early lead."
Josh Poloha: Ohio State 48, Maryland 13. "The Buckeyes get yet another blowout win in their final tune-up game prior to The Game. I have a feeling Ohio State's offense will be very vanilla in this game."
Ramzy Nasrallah: Ohio State 42, Maryland 17. "I cannot remember the last time I wished Ohio State wasn’t playing a football game, but this is one of those times."
"I’d be more concerned about a trap game if Maryland hadn’t scored 10 total points in its last two outings."– Dan Hope
Jason Priestas: Ohio State 51, Maryland 17.
Jared Naughton: Ohio State 45, Maryland 17
Andy Vance: Ohio State 56, Maryland 10

Will Ohio State Cover the Spread?
Ohio State opened as a 25-point favorite over Maryland on Sunday. However, that number has since swelled to 27.5 points for the Buckeyes in the hours before kickoff. With the current point spread, 11 of 14 staffers predict that Ohio State will defeat Maryland by 28 or more points on Saturday.
Matt Gutridge has the largest score differential for the Buckeyes this weekend, with Ohio State winning 63-10 in his prediction. Meanwhile, three staffers – Chris Lauderback, Chase Brown and Ramzy Nasrallah – believe Maryland will cover the spread. However, all three picked a final score of 42-17, so they still picked a blowout for the scarlet and gray.
What About the Over?
According to betJack, the current over/under is 65 points for Ohio State's matchup with Maryland. With that said, four of the 14 staffers predicted scores for the Buckeyes and Terrapins that will reach the over of 66+ points. Still, the other predictions weren't far off from that number, as the lowest projected total points came from Griffin Strom and Kyle Jones, who both picked a total of 51 points for both teams on Saturday.
