Justin Fields has officially joined the 1,000-yard club.

The former Ohio State quarterback became just the third quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season when he officially reached quadruple digits for the 2022 season on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Entering Sunday’s game needing 95 yards to reach 1,000 for the season, Fields reached that number exactly on a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter that brought him to 95 yards for the game.

That came after Fields added to his highlight reel of spectacular runs earlier in the game with a 39-yard run on which he weaved his way through several near-tackles and nearly went for a touchdown before stepping out of bounds at the 9-yard line.

Fields joins an exclusive group of quarterbacks who have rushed for 1,000 yards in a single season. Michael Vick became the first QB to accomplish that feat in 2006, while Lamar Jackson topped 1,000 yards in both 2019 and 2020. With three weeks still to go in the 2022 season, Fields is within striking distance to potentially break Jackson’s single-season quarterback rushing record of 1,206 yards in 2019.
