Jake Seibert is looking for a new destination to continue his college football career.

Just two days after the spring game, the third-year kicker became the Buckeyes' first post-spring transfer portal departure Monday. Seibert issued a statement on social media to announce his decision and wrote that "Ohio State has provided me with an incredible education and countless opportunities for personal and athletic development, and I will always be thankful."

A Cincinnati native, Seibert entered the program second-ranked kicker in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. With Blake Haubeil banged up during the 2020 season, Seibert hit all 16 of his extra-point attempts and went 1-for-2 on field goals as a true freshman.

However, the Buckeyes brought in North Carolina transfer kicker Noah Ruggles ahead of the 2021 season, and Ruggles went on to kick every Ohio State field goal and all but two extra points across 2021 and 2022. At the start of the Buckeyes' fall camp last August, Seibert took practice reps at cornerback.

Seibert never attempted a kick in a game for Ohio State after his freshman season.

The Buckeyes still have several kickers remaining on the 2023 roster, including USC transfer Parker Lewis and walk-ons Jayden Fielding and Casey Magyar, but none have attempted an official field goal or extra point in a Buckeye uniform.
