Ben Christman is SEC-bound.

The ex-Buckeye offensive lineman announced on Sunday afternoon that he will transfer to the University of Kentucky in advance of the 2023 college football campaign. He announced his decision to depart Ohio State on April 26th.

Christman arrived as a four-star prospect and top-125 player in the 2021 recruiting class. After redshirting with zero snaps during his freshman year, Christman ultimately became the fourth lineman in his class to relinquish the helmet black stripe at practice. He saw just nine total snaps in one game last season: Ohio State's mid-November blowout win over Indiana.

With Dawand Jones and Paris Johnson off to the NFL, needs along the offensive line ahead of the upcoming season presented a new window of opportunity for Christman to capitalize on. He received the third highest snap count of any Buckeye lineman during the spring game, but did line up on the second-team unit behind returning starter Donovan Jackson.

Christman becomes the second former Ohio State football player to announce an SEC transfer destination in as many days after Caleb Burton declared he would play for Auburn next season. Burton also announced his intent to transfer one day before Christman.
