C.J. Stroud will have another former Buckeye to throw to this season.

After spending last season with the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants, Nick Vannett has agreed to a deal with the Houston Texans, the team announced Wednesday.

Selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Vannett spent his first three-and-a-half seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Since then, he has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Saints and Giants.

After a career-best year in 2018 that included 29 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns, Vannett has combined for 46 receptions, 449 yards and two touchdowns since. The seven-year veteran has totaled 90 catches for 874 yards and six touchdowns in his career across 38 starts and 86 appearances.

In 2023, Vannett will team up with Stroud, Noah Brown and two other Buckeyes in Houston, where the former Ohio State tight end is expected to serve as a blocking tight end for the Texans, as Houston signed former Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz this offseason.
