Five Ohio State players are on the Associated Press’ preseason All-American teams.
Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka are two of the three wide receivers to earn first-team preseason All-America honors from the AP, one of the five selectors that names consensus All-Americans at the end of the year, along with Washington’s Rome Odunze. Tommy Eichenberg is one of three linebackers on the preseason All-American first team along with LSU’s Harold Perkins and Georgia’s Jamon Dumas-Johnson.
Ohio State’s three representatives on the first team are the second-most of any school behind only Georgia, who has four first-team preseason AP All-Americans (Dumas-Johnson, tight end Brock Bowers, center Sedrick Van Pran and safety Malaki Starks).
The Buckeyes also have two second-team preseason AP All-Americans. Donovan Jackson earned second-team honors at guard while JT Tuimoloau earned second-team recognition at defensive end. Ohio State’s five overall preseason AP All-America selections are tied with Georgia for the most among all schools.
