No. 3 it is – again.

Although Ohio State was ranked No. 1 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season last Tuesday, the Buckeyes remained the third-ranked team in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll following their win at Rutgers Saturday afternoon.

The top nine teams in the AP Poll remained unchanged as Ohio State remains behind Georgia and Michigan in the top 25. Along with the Buckeyes and Wolverines, Penn State (No. 9) is the only other representative from the Big Ten in the rankings. For some perspective, Toledo (25 votes) has more votes than any of the unranked Big Ten teams, as Iowa (six) was the only other conference team to receive a vote.

Following their respective losses, Oklahoma fell seven spots to No. 17, Notre Dame dropped 10 spots to No. 22 and USC is now unranked in this week's AP Poll.

While the Buckeyes remain No. 3 in the Coaches Poll, with the top five teams remaining unchanged just like last week, Ohio State received two more first-place votes (five total) this week and now has the second-most first-place votes in the poll behind only Georgia's 55. Michigan has the other four first-place votes.
