Ohio State demolishes Tennessee, 42-17, and advances to the Rose Bowl to face top-seeded Oregon.
Omari Abor's time at Ohio State has come to an end.
According to a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3, the Ohio State defensive end plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Dec. 4. He will leave Columbus after two years with the Buckeyes and have three years of eligibility to use with another program.
Abor was one of the top recruits in Ohio State's recruiting class of 2022. According to the 247Sports composite, Abor was the No. 6 defensive end and No. 63 overall player in the class as a standout for Duncanville High School. A product of The Lone Star State, Abor was part of a defensive line class that included fellow edge rushers Kenyatta Jackson and Caden Curry and defensive tackle Hero Kanu.
In two seasons at Ohio State, Abor dealt with a couple of ailments that kept him on the sidelines. In 2022, he received a few snaps in the second game of the season against Arkansas State before sitting out the rest of the regular season due to a knee injury. In 2023, Abor suffered an undisclosed injury before the 2023 campaign that required surgery.
Abor made six appearances for the Buckeyes this season, including Ohio State's wins over Youngstown State, Western Kentucky, Purdue, Rutgers, Michigan State and Minnesota. He recorded two tackles in 29 snaps.
