Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is one step closer to being a unanimous All-American again.
Harrison checked off the second of five teams he’ll need to make to earn that honor when he was named Monday as a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
The FWAA also named Ohio State linebacker Tommy Eichenberg as a second-team All-American.
It’s the second year in a row that the FWAA has named Harrison a first-team All-American and Eichenberg a second-team All-American. They are the first pair of Buckeyes to both earn FWAA All-American honors in back-to-back years.
Harrison adds FWAA All-American honors to a long list of accolades he’s received this season. This year’s winner of the Biletnikoff Award as well as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Receiver of the Year awards, Harrison was also named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and finished fourth in voting for the Heisman Trophy.
To earn unanimous All-American honors for the second year in a row, Harrison will also need to earn first-team honors from the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press and Sporting News.
Eichenberg was named the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year after recording a team-leading 82 tackles during the regular season for an Ohio State defense that ranks second nationally with only 11 points allowed per game.
