Ohio State demolishes Tennessee, 42-17, and advances to the Rose Bowl to face top-seeded Oregon.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is officially a two-time unanimous All-American.
Harrison became the fifth player in Ohio State history to earn unanimous All-American honors twice when he was named as a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association on Thursday. He was previously named as a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Associated Press, FWAA and Sporting News, the other four organizations that determine consensus and unanimous All-Americans.
Harrison, who last year became the first-ever Ohio State wide receiver to earn unanimous All-American honors once, joins offensive tackle Orlando Pace (1995-96), running back Archie Griffin (1974-75), fullback Bob Ferguson (1960-61) and running back Howard “Hopalong” Cassady (1954-55) as Buckeyes who have earned unanimous All-American honors twice.

Only six other players from current Big Ten schools have earned unanimous All-American honors twice: Purdue running back Leroy Keyes (1967-68), Michigan wide receiver Anthony Carter (1981-82), Nebraska center Dave Rimington (1981-82), Illinois wide receiver David Williams (1984-85), Michigan defensive back Tripp Welborne (1989-90) and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor (2018-19).
Harrison adds his second unanimous All-American honor to a long list of accolades he has received this season including the Biletnikoff Award, which honors college football’s best receiver, and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Receiver of the Year awards.
Those honors came after a dominant regular season in which he topped 100 receiving yards in eight of Ohio State’s 12 regular-season games and scored touchdowns in 10 of Ohio State’s 12 regular-season games, totaling 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns for the year.
A projected top-three overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, Harrison has not yet decided whether or not he will play in the Cotton Bowl. If he opts to enter the draft and not play in the Cotton Bowl, Harrison will finish his Ohio State career ranking sixth in school history in total receptions (155) and receiving yards (2,613) and third in school history in touchdown catches (31).
Harrison remains the only Ohio State player to earn first-team All-American honors this year. Ohio State defensive end JT Tuimoloau was named a second-team All-American by the AFCA; Tommy Eichenberg earned second-team honors from the FWAA while Denzel Burke and Tyleik Williams earned second-team honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
