It's not easy picking players of the game for a team that just smashed previously unbeaten and top-ranked Oregon, 41-21. Okay, maybe the offensive choice wasn't too difficult.
Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith – fresh off a setting a freshman single-game receiving record with 187 yards and two critical first half touchdowns – was named the Offensive MVP of the 111th Rose Bowl Game.
Smith entered the game with a warning that if he was single-covered, Ohio State was going to take shots and take shots the Buckeyes did.
The biggest cheat code in college football became just the third player with multiple touchdowns of 40 or more yards in a College Football Playoff game.

Cody Simon was awarded Defensive Player of the Game after recording 11 tackles (seven solo), two sacks, three tackles for loss, and a pass breakup in the game.
Absolutely monster performances out of each player.
