For the sixth time this season, College GameDay will preview an Ohio State football game.

When Ohio State battles Texas in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, College GameDay will be on hand to preview the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup. The ESPN college football kickoff show will also be in Miami when Penn State faces Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl on Thursday.

GameDay's appearance at the Cotton Bowl will mark the sixth time Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and Desmond Howard host the show for an Ohio State game this season, the most of any school. Should the Buckeyes advance to the national championship in Atlanta on Jan. 20, that number would increase to seven.

In Ohio State's previous five appearances on College GameDay this year, the Buckeyes lost to Oregon (in the regular season) but beat Penn State, Indiana, Tennessee and Oregon (in the Rose Bowl). The program is 44-20 all-time in the show's 31-year history.
