With great talent comes great expectations.
There's no denying the talent on this year's Ohio State defense. Already a top-three unit for both scoring and total defense last season, the Buckeyes brought back a cavalcade of key contributors ready to take another step forward.
As such, multiple Ohio State defensive players told the local media during interviews on Thursday that it's “natty or bust” for this year's team. With all the experience at his disposal, Jim Knowles is planning to add some new wrinkles in for the group, including a potential package that sees five defensive linemen with Jack Sawyer and/or JT Tuimoloau standing up as an outside linebacker.
Cornerback Denzel Burke also praised Jeremiah Smith on Thursday but said there's still more he needs to see from Kansas State transfer Will Howard as the Buckeyes’ quarterback competition continues.
