Jamarco Jones is back in the NFL.

The former Ohio State offensive lineman signed a contract with the Detroit Lions on Saturday, according to his agency AMDG Sports.

Jones joins his former Ohio State teammate Taylor Decker, who he succeeded as the Buckeyes’ starting left tackle in 2016, on the Lions’ offensive line. While Decker is entering his ninth year as the Lions’ starting left tackle, recently signing a three-year, $60 million contract extension with Detroit, Jones will be competing to make the Lions’ roster as a backup offensive lineman.

Jones is back on an NFL roster for the first time in a year as he was released by the Tennessee Titans last August after getting into multiple fights in practice. A 2018 fifth-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks, Jones played in 36 games with seven starts in four years in Seattle but never appeared in a game for the Titans after signing a two-year contract with Tennessee in 2022.

Jones played for Ohio State from 2014-17, starting all 27 games at left tackle in 2016 and 2017 and earning first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2017.
