The talent on Ohio State's 2024 roster is not lost on national pundits.

The Associated Press released its preseason 2024 college football rankings on Monday and the Buckeyes landed in second place, only falling behind Georgia, winners of two of the past three national championships.

This comes one week after the preseason Coaches Poll also ranked Ohio State No. 2, solidifying the Buckeyes' place as an early national title contender.

Georgia received 46 of 62 first-place votes in the AP Poll while the Buckeyes gathered 15. No. 3 Oregon received the lone other first-place vote.

Four fellow Big Ten schools joined Ohio State and Oregon in the initial batch of rankings. No. 8 Penn State was followed by No. 9 Michigan, No. 23 USC and No. 25 Iowa.
