After Michigan lost to Texas on Saturday afternoon, Ohio State will be looking to give the Wolverines more to worry about on Saturday night.
Ohio State’s representatives continued to preach at Saturday’s Skull Session that the Buckeyes are taking things one game at a time, focusing tonight solely on beating Western Michigan. But Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn wants the rivals to take notice of their neighbors to the south as the Buckeyes play the Broncos under the lights.
“When the third quarter comes and the best band in the land plays Sloopy, I want you to get up on your feet. I want you to be so loud that the entire country – especially up I-75 North, three-and-a-half hours, 195 miles from here – I want you to let them know that we comin’, and we bringing blood and thunder with us,” Locklyn said, drawing massive cheers from the crowd of fans in attendance at St. John Arena.
Locklyn also said the fans inside Ohio Stadium on Saturday night will see “relentless effort” from the Buckeyes.
“When Western Michigan leaves the Shoe tonight, they’re gonna know what it feels like to be in a fight with the Buckeyes,” Locklyn said.
Ryan Day stuck with the “one game at a time” mantra during his Skull Session speech, viewing that as the best way for the Buckeyes to build momentum for the biggest games to come at the end of the season.
“We’re taking it one day at a time, we‘re taking it one week at a time, we’re taking it one game at a time, until we build so much momentum and apply so much pressure to our opponents that they can’t hold up anymore,” Day said.
Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson also addressed the crowd at Saturday’s Skull Session, saying he is “so proud of my brothers and how hard we’ve been working.”
“We’ve just been trying to take it day by day and get better each and every day, and today we’re gonna focus on today to strive to be the best team in America and the hardest-playing team in America,” Henderson said.
