I can't pretend to know a ton about the more technical details of football. There's an embarrassing amount of nomenclature and general knowledge that, when I hear it from actual ball-knowers, I kind of just bob my head along with and silently pray that nobody directly quizzes me on the finer details of Cover 2 or whatever.

But on the other hand, I've been doing this Eleven Warriors thing for a while now, and through sheer osmosis I think that I have developed an innate sense of when the football vibes are on, and when they are off. Which is why I wasn't too worried going into halftime yesterday: the vibes were good! Save for a few dumb turnovers, the Buckeyes were moving the ball, the defense looked great, and that didn't seem likely to change in the second half.

And, for now at least, that's kind of how I feel about the season as a whole going forward. Obviously next week at Oregon is a huge test, but the fundamentals of this Ohio State team are such that a close loss wouldn't cause me that much consternation. I'm convinced that this is in almost all facets a very, very good football team.

Good enough to win a national championship? That remains to be seen, but good enough to win the Big Ten? To beat Michigan? I'm feeling pretty good about those chances.

OH, DID JEREMIAH SMITH DO SOMETHING CRAZY?

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

And that'll do it for this week, next up is the aforementioned Oregon Ducks, and if I recall correctly the Buckeyes owe them an ass kicking. Hopefully that's what we get!
