Ohio State’s season is far from over, but the Buckeyes have some major concerns to address after their first loss of the season.
Most strikingly, an Ohio State defense that was supposed to be the best in the country this season looked far from it as the Buckeyes gave up 496 yards in their 32-31 loss at Oregon.
On the other side of the ball, the Buckeyes came up short with the game on the line, but the bigger long-term concern for the offense is at left tackle, where Ohio State lost Josh Simmons – arguably the Buckeyes’ most indispensable player – to what Ryan Day said is a likely season-ending injury.
The offensive pass interference call against Ohio State on the final drive was questionable, but that doesn’t make up for what the Buckeyes didn’t do well in Eugene, including a complete lack of sacks by the defensive line and a night Denzel Burke will want to forget.
Eleven Warriors’ Dan Hope and Garrick Hodge break down what went wrong for Ohio State against Oregon and what the Buckeyes need to do in the second half of the season to keep their championship hopes alive on a new episode of After Carmen from Autzen Stadium.
