A dozen members of Ohio State’s 2024 recruiting class have now had their black stripe removed.

Max LeBlanc became the latest member of Ohio State’s freshman class to complete the team’s initiation ritual when he had his black stripe removed following the Buckeyes’ final practice of their bye week on Thursday.

A four-star recruit in the 2024 class who grew up in Quebec before enrolling at the Baylor School in Tennessee, LeBlanc becomes the 12th member of this year’s freshman class to have his stripe removed, joining Jeremiah Smith, Julian Sayin, Jaylen McClain, Eddrick Houston, James Peoples, Payton Pierce, Ian Moore, Leroy Roker, Mylan Graham, Aaron Scott Jr. and Air Noland.

LeBlanc has appeared in just one game this season, playing five snaps against Western Michigan, and is likely in line for a redshirt. While there could be more playing time available at tight end in the second half of the season with Will Kacmarek expected to miss multiple games with an injury he suffered against Oregon, LeBlanc remains behind Gee Scott Jr., Bennett Christian, Jelani Thurman and Patrick Gurd on the tight end depth chart.
