It's common practice for two NFL players to place friendly wagers when their alma maters face off in college football.
While most wagers require the losing player to wear a jersey (or another article of clothing) of the winning player's former school, Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Bucker had different plans for defensive end Tyquan Lewis following the Ducks' win over the Buckeyes on Oct. 12.
In his first press conference since being activated off injured reserve, Buckner ended the media session by welcoming the Oregon Duck to the podium.
"See, this specific Duck is a bad Duck," Bucker told gathered media members. "You see, he's a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan. With a lot of training and a lot of beating into him, he became Oregon's biggest supporter. Let's go, Ducks! Ain't that right, Ty Lew?"
At that point, Buckner removed the Duck's head cover to reveal that Lewis was wearing the mascot gear.

Buckner attended Oregon from 2012-15, while Lewis attended Ohio State from 2013-17. This means that while Buckner won the bet with Lewis, the former Buckeye still has an ultimate trump card from his team's 42-20 win over the Ducks in the 2014 national championship.
Buckner and Lewis have been teammates in Indianapolis since 2020. In that time, Buckner has collected 288 tackles, 43 tackles for loss and 34 sacks, while Lewis has 97 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
