These aren’t the Spoilermakers of legend.

Sitting at 1-7 and winless in Big Ten play, Purdue will limp into Ohio Stadium on Saturday with Ohio State massively favored to take care of business against the Boilermakers. According to the Action Network, the Buckeyes enter the week as 38.5-point favorites against the struggling Boilermakers after the spread opened at 34.5 points.

After securing a massive win over Penn State in a top-five matchup on Saturday, Ohio State moved to 7-1 on the season. However, the Buckeyes are just 4-4 against the spread and has failed to cover in two of its last three games — though they did cover the 3-point mark against the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium.

The Boilermakers are 2-6 against the spread, and have also been unable to cover in two of their last three games.

The total for Saturday’s contest is set at 52.5 points. In four of Ohio State’s last five games, the under has hit — with the lone exception coming in the Buckeyes’ 32-31 loss to Oregon, in which the total was set at 54.5 points.

Ohio State is 41-15 against Purdue all-time, and Buckeye head coach Ryan Day is 2-0 against the Boilermakers during his tenure — forging an average margin of victory of 31 points against Purdue.
