Nearly 10 million people tuned in to watch Ohio State earn its eighth straight win over Penn State.

FOX Sports announced Wednesday that an audience of 9.94 million viewers tuned in to watch the Buckeyes’ 20-13 victory over the Nittany Lions.

It was the most-watched game of the season to date for FOX, which airs one of the Big Ten’s marquee games each week in its Big Noon Saturday time slot.

FOX also announced that it was the most-watched Big Ten game of the season on any network, though that could depend on which metric you use to measure ratings. NBC announced that 10.2 million people watched Ohio State’s loss to Oregon on Oct. 12, a number that included viewers on Peacock and NBC Sports Digital; Nielsen’s official rating was 9.6 million, but that number did not include Peacock viewership.

Per Nielsen ratings, only three games have surpassed the threshold of 10 million viewers this season, all in the SEC: Georgia’s win over Texas (13.19 million), Alabama’s win over Georgia (11.99 million) and Tennessee’s win over Alabama (10.23 million).

All of Ohio State’s last three games have ranked as the most-watched game in college football for its respective week. In between the Oregon and Penn State games, Ohio State’s win over Nebraska drew the highest rating among Week 9 games with a viewership of 5.96 million.
